Assistance with Utilities, Vehicle Repair or Christmas Gifts.

swtmlsa started this conversation

Hi, I am a single mom with 5 great kids (ages 12,9,6,5,4) living in Kingston, PA. My ex has not paid child support since July & I am really having a terrible time making ends meet. I work from home as a claims processor but it has been very slow lately. I am only making about $475 every 2 weeks after taxes right now. I am also receiving $315 in food stamps per month. I currently have shut off notices for all of my utilities. I have an old van with an expired inspection because it needs repair to pass. This morning when I went out to take my daughter to school I had a flat tire and I don't even have a spare. I tried to apply for Toys for Tots but I was too late - they had sign up the first week of October. My kid's don't have winter coats - I will even trade their coats from last year that don't fit to someone with the right sizes.

I have been looking for a second job to work 3rd shift while my kids are sleeping since I can't afford daycare, but it's been very difficult finding what I need. I am in desperate need of some help. If anyone has the ability and the heart to help me in my time of need I would be indebted to you for life. I am willing to babysit part-time in my home, cook/bake for you, clean your home during the day, run errands for you, wrap gifts, etc. in exchange for assistance with rent, utilities or Christmas gifts for my babies. I will even sign a promisary note to pay you back with my tax refund in February for a cash loan to get my van repaired & to get caught up on my bills. Once I am paid up I won't have to worry about late fees, reconnection fees, etc. - so I can make a payment plan as well.

I pray that you can find it in your heart to help my family out. I am not a dead-beat, and I don't normally ask for help - but I really, really need it this time. I am losing hope and feeling very discouraged lately and any little bit of help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a Blessed Day.

Hello, I'm Liz....I don't have any money to help you because i struggle with many of the same things you are going through but IK know of places that can help some. Salvation Army had a sign up day in Nov. for Christmas . They help with food and toys and possible clothing for the children.  The DollarEnergy Fund is helping with utilities right now Department of Public Assistance will help you with car repairs because you are working.  I wish I were in a better position to help you....we are living similiar struggles.Stay Strong and things will get better!!
